Let’s Read Together: The Radium Girls #HSSBookClub

Introducing Our Book Club #HSSBookClub.

To give a little background, I am a NON READER. Like, I didn’t even have a reading course in school. Growing up in India, we didn’t have much emphasis on reading. Leaning the language was critical and so was grammar, but reading not so much. I had some friends who were into reading, my parents would read a book every now and then but no formal reading habits were formed.

So, when I committed to reading 5 books in 2016  & 12 books in 2017, I was absolutely terrified. Except for the essentials like ” The Alchemist”, “Anne Frank’s Diary” and books like “The Secret”, I didn’t have a very good track record. But Audible came to my rescue and before I knew it, I had finished listening to 6 books, for my 5 books year.

But over the next 16 months, I finally forged a reading habit. This year I decided to do something crazy, I signed up to read 100 books in 2018. Trust me I am terrified how I’ll make it happen, but I am not going to lie, the goal pushed me to up my game and even though I am not on track, I have already read 15 books!

I am currently reading 5 more and have the next 5 lined up. I will discuss the details of how I forged this habit in the next post.

This habit got me thinking about creating my own “BOOK CLUB” and my website was the best way to do it. So here it is Her STEM Story Book Club = #HSSBookClub.
