Prior to my current life in the lab studying animal bones and isotopes, I had no idea how to operate a microscope. Someone who couldn’t remember what an electron was. Someone who would never even stick her foot into a lab, let alone work in one.
For this post, I wanted to write about something other than travel and point out the issues my peers have faced being women in STEM. I wanted to take this opportunity to express the disappointment I feel, how it’s unfair to expect women and young girls to confer to gender stereotypes!
